The process involved in securing a bed in a crisis accommodation service varies. You can contact a crisis service yourself or be referred to one by a Housing Information and Referral worker. You may have to attend an interview. If there are no beds available you will be asked to ring back, possibly on a daily basis.
Housing Information and Referral is delivered through 19 different agencies in 20 geographic and 2 specialist catchments across the State. These agencies assist households in crisis as a result of homelessness or impending homelessness. They are open during regular business hours. These agencies will provide you will information regarding crisis accommodation vacancies in your area.
